A thousand and one truffles: the creativity of Stefania Calugi

In the heart of the San Miniato’s hills, renowned for truffle production, Stefania Calugi founded Stefania Calugi Tartufi in 1987. From the beginning, Stefania combines her passion for truffles with the pursuit of excellence, turning the company into a model of success and innovation.

Stefania’s main goal is to transmit her love for good food, creating authentic bonds with customers, suppliers and collaborators. From a small artisan workshop of only 67 square meters, the company grew to more than 1,500 square meters with 25 employees, including 16 women.

Over time, demand for her products grew and Stefania expanded her offerings, starting with traditional products such as sliced summer truffles, one of the company’s flagship products.

In the second half of the 1990s, truffles began to spread to the tables of Italians and abroad, and the company established itself as a synonym for quality, attracting an increasingly attentive and demanding public.

In 2010, Jurij, an experienced truffle hunter and Stefania’s partner, joined the company with the ‘goal of making the truffle known to the world. The product lines, intended for the end-consumer and restaurant markets, obtain international certifications such as BRC and IFS, guaranteeing high standards of quality and traceability.

Today the company exports to more than 40 countries, proving that it is possible to do business in an innovative and sustainable way and representing a model of Italian female excellence.

Over time, Stefania Calugi Tartufi has acquired 30 hectares of certified organic truffle farms, which ensure sustainable production of fresh truffles and traceable processed products.

Numerous awards and recognitions, such as the Great Taste, the Italy Food Awards, among the most eagerly awaited awards in the food industry, the Cribis, the highest commercial reliability award, and the Great Producer, testify to the excellence of the work done.

Mille e un tartufo”: Stefania Calugi’s Creativity One of the most innovative projects is the “Mille e un tartufo” line, designed to make the public fall in love with truffles, making them accessible and versatile for everyday use in the kitchen.

These are ready-to-use truffle powders suitable for first courses, main courses and desserts. The unique seasonings enrich any dish, from the simplest to the most elaborate, thanks to the use of special ingredients such as dehydrated fruits and vegetables, spices and truffles.

“Mille e un tartufo” is a sensory experience that invites you to experiment with new flavors and combinations. Each product in the line features an evocative number and name that tells a story, such as Number 1 “Origin,” Number 6 “Delight,” Number 12 “Understanding,” and Number 28 “Harmony.”
