The most awaited event of 2017 is starting: GastroPan Exhibition

GastroPan International Exhibition, the most important trade fair for the baking, confectionery, pastry, hospitality technologies in Southeastern and Central Europe, is starting on 23rd of March 2017. The exhibition is organized in Romania by Boro-Info, editor of the leading specialized magazines: Brutarul-Cofetarul and Gastromedia, in Romania. The trade fair takes place at Redal Expo exhibition center, in Sibiu, 23-25th of March. More than 130 exhibitors, suppliers of products, services and technologies for businesses in the above industries will meet visitors, representatives from bakeries, confectioneries, pastry shops, hotels, restaurants, cafés and other hospitality units. Also, we will find out who wins the prestigious trophies: Bread of 2017 and Cake of 2017.

Innovation, diversity, efficiency for all types of bakery, confectionery or hospitality businesses

Both suppliers of products and services for businesses activating in these sectors and manufacturers from mills, bakeries, pastry shops, confectioneries along with operators and managers of hotels, restaurants, bars or cafés consider that GastroPan exhibition is a real opportunity to develop their businesses. The 9th edition of GastroPan exhibition will present the largest variety of products, solutions and technologies: the latest equipment and technologies for the bakery-pastry-milling sector, ingredients and innovative accessories for the confectionery and ice-cream industry, IT solutions and products for hospitality units, professional hygiene solutions for the food serviceindustry, packaging and utensils for professional kitchens and factories. Besides all these products and services that will be presented at the exhibitors’ booths, there will be live tastings, workshops, demo shows held by world-class experts, presentations of technologies by professionals, innovative and new products will be launched.

Talented bakers, pastry chefs and chefs will be awarded at the GastroPan Competitions

GastroPan Competitions represent the starting point of the year for specialists in the sector as these competitions set the trends for the year in Romania. Besides the permanent attractions, technologies, products and solutions presented at the exhibitors’ booths, all three days of the event will offer an interesting program: one competition section for each day – BAKERY-PASTRY, CONFECTIONERY, GASTRONOMY.

Thursday, the first day of the exhibition will be the day of the competitions organized within the Confectionery competition section. Contestants will present the best cakes made of exotic ingredients and the most amazing, “Cinema” themed artistic pieces made of chocolate or sugar paste. The “Cake of Year 2017” will be awarded.

In the Bakery-Pastry competition section, on Friday, tens of artisan and industrial bakeries will present the best breads and salty pastry products for breakfast, as well as the most amazing artistic pieces made of bread dough. The theme of Bread Dough Artistic Piece category is: ”Autumn in the Countryside”. The most awaited moment of the day will be the award ceremony for the ”Artisan Bread of the Year 2017” and the ”Industrial Bread of the Year 2017”.

Saturday will be the day of the Gastronomy competition section. Chefs will prepare a festive cold plate consisting of healthy dishes. Contestants having a more developed artistic spirit can show their talents in the Fruit and Vegetable Carving category, at which they will have to present an artistic piece fitting into the topic of ”Aquatic World”.

A professional business event with the presence of officials

Besides leaders and other members of the most important international and Romanian professional associations such as Aurel Popescu – President of the Bakery and Flour Based Products Industry (ROMPAN), Viorel Marin – President of the Romanian National Association of Flour Milling and Baking Industries (ANAMOB), Ştefan Bercea – President of the Romanian National Association of Chefs and Pastry Chefs of Tourism (ANBCT), Radu Zărnescu – President of Euro-Toques Romania, Dumitru Burtea – Honorary President of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) and Ilonka Boldizsár – Vice President of the International Union of Bakers and Confectioners (UIBC), special guests of the event will be Astrid Cora Fodor – Mayor of Sibiu, Daniela Cîmpean – President of County Council Sibiu, and Aldea Gheorghe Aurel – President of al Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sibiu.

GastroPan exhibition can be visited between 10:00 – 18:00, March 23rd-25th 2017, in Romania, Sibiu, Redal Events exhibition center, str. Johann Sebastian Bach nr. 4. The exhibition can be visited for free with invitations or access tickets available on www.gastropan.ro
